About us – or: How it all began with a little limp

Animals have been a part of my life—whether big or small, loud or quiet. But it wasn't until a long period of study, a lot of work, and the loving support of my better half that my dream of having my own little cat became a reality.

After a long search and almost 100 km of driving (for two little kittens and one big heart), we were faced with a decision: The kitty I originally had my eye on was shyly hiding. But then, as if out of nowhere, the second little tomcat jumped on me – and crawled up me with determination. I didn't choose him – he chose me . And so it was clear: He was coming with us.

We didn't have a name yet. But when the little explorer jumped out of bed a short time later, injured his ankle, and started limping, inspiration struck: I remembered a friendly shelter dog named HumpyDumpy , whom I unfortunately didn't have time for at the time. That's how our little cat got his name: Humpy – with heart and a limp.

And then the next challenge began: finding the right equipment.
From flimsy plastic bowls to failed toilet experiments to wobbly scratching posts – we'd made a few bad buys. Overloaded online shops and endless research later, it became clear: There had to be an easier and more pleasant way.

This is how Miez & Gemütlich was born – a place for products that are well-thought-out, charming, and suitable for everyday use. For cats who deserve more than just "functionality." And for people who don't just shop, but create a home – for themselves and their beloved furry friends.
